This breath is simple, but the benefits are far reaching. This practice can help feed positivity into your life and may also help heal interpersonal injuries, regrets or resentments.
Practice
To practice, simply find a positive, kind phrase and repeat it with each inhale. The phrase may be directed at specific people, or humanity at large.
It may also be directed at the self, which is sometimes the most difficult, but perhaps the most important.
First, find your phrase. Examples include:
“I delight in my friend’s happiness”
“I intend only kindness and honesty towards my partner”
“I am grateful for the sunshine that reminds me of the world’s natural beauty”
“I am empowered, I am strong”
“I embody compassion and love towards myself”
Once you have your phrase in mind:
Inhale, repeat your kind intention phrase
Exhale fully
Repeat.
