Benefits
The purpose of this breath is to have you breath the same length of time on your inhale as your exhale. This equal parts breath practice will bring you stability and focus.
This breath, like all basic breathing practices will help bring the mind and body to a state of relaxation and focus.
Practice
To practice, simply sit or lay down in a comfortable way. You may choose to close your eyes.
First begin by observing your breath. Just notice.
On your next inhale, count to 4 as you breathe in. Exhale and count to 4.

If you’d like you can slowly increase the amount of time you breathe in and out. Practice until you feel a sense of calm.
