Square Breathing

Benefits

This breath practice can be done seated or standing. This breath is a good one to practice while waiting in line, at a stoplight, or before a presentation. Essentially, anytime you need to be be patient or focused. This is also a good one to ease the mind. 

If you are able breathe in and out through the nose. You may also try breathing in through the nose, exhaling through the mouth. 

Practice

To practice simply: 

(Breathe in 4 counts, Hold 4 counts.
Breathe out 4 counts, Hold 4 counts.)

Breathe in 4, 3, 2, 1
Hold 4, 3, 2, 1 
Breath out 4, 3, 2, 1, 
Hold 4, 3, 2, 1 

Repeat until you feel calm.
